Mythic Con and Mythic Con West are annual tabletop gaming conventions in North Carolina. Mythic Con happens on or around Veteran’s Day weekend in Charlotte, NC. Mythic Con West is typically scheduled in early spring in Asheville, NC. Mythic Con is the successor to the MACE gaming conventions by JustUs Productions, which ended its 25-year run in 2022.

What is tabletop gaming?

Tabletop gaming is a term that describes a variety of gaming experiences, such as board games, card games, role-playing games (RPGs) and miniatures games. One thing that is common among these is that they require you to physically interact with other players in "meat space." Although many tabletop games can be played virtually on tablets or computers, we here at Games for All Events believe that they are best played face-to-face with other real human beings, and that's what Mythic Con is all about!

What can I expect at a Mythic Con event?

Mythic Con events feature a variety of board games, card games, role-playing games (RPGs), and miniatures games. Our games are all hosted by volunteer game masters (GMs) who run the games they are most passionate about. This makes our event schedule completely community driven! Mythic Con events also have a vendor room featuring small gaming geek-friendly businesses, most of whom are local to the NC gaming community or have been attending MACE conventions for many years! Expect to also meet independent local game developers, gaming YouTubers, podcasters, and more!

What will I NOT see at a Mythic Con event?

Even though we throw around the term "gaming" a lot, there are certain types of "gaming" that you are not going to see, such as gambling. Also, it is unlikely that you will see "classic" styles of games being played, such as Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Rummy, Gin, and the like. Tabletop games have evolved quite a lot from what our parents and grandparents used to play, after all, and while classic games can be fun, it is unlikely that you will see many of them on our event schedule.

Mythic Con West (Asheville, NC - Spring)

At Mythic Con West, expect a smaller convention with a more casual vibe located in the beautiful NC mountains. Hosted at the Hilton Doubletree at Biltmore, Mythic Con West is great for those who wish to enjoy three exciting days of gaming and also enjoy the dining, sights and sounds of Asheville. Our vendor room features a variety of Asheville-local vendors selling gamer and geek wares. A popular feature is our Play-to-Win event, sponsored by Envoy! (Also, the Doubletree gives out free cookies to hotel guests, so what’s not to love?)

Mythic Con (Charlotte, NC - Fall)

At Mythic Con (aka Mythic Con Prime), expect a larger convention, but still with that intimate, home-town feeling that we have come to know and love from MACE. Located at the University Hilton in the north eastern part of Charlotte, Mythic Con has over twice the average attendees of Mythic Con West. Our massive vendor room features artists, authors, game designers, and many other exhibitors. We have multiple game rooms which on specific types of games such as live-action roleplaying (LARP), organized play, miniature wargaming, etc. Mythic Con also has a unique crafting and seminar track intended to spur the imagination and give game masters and players the skills to make their games spectacular. Learn to paint miniatures, build terrain, join a crafting competition, or learn ways to be a better game master! Mythic Con has it all!
